From her studio in Vancouver, Washington, Northwest artist Gloria Mack Cummings creates works in watercolor, oil, colored pencil, pen and ink, and stained glass.

    Born in Longview, Washington, she grew up in Vancouver attending school in the Vancouver school district where art was an integral part of all primary and secondary schools. She graduated from Vancouver High School.

    Majoring in Art and Home Economics with a minor in Business Administration, she has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design from Washington State University and a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Oregon and continued training in counseling and school administration.  She has taught artistic principles to thousands of high school students during her career as a teacher.

     Now retired from the public school system, she has scratched her artistic itch as owner/designer in her own florist shop.  Her love of flowers is evident in the many floral paintings she does.  Sports themes spring from her involvement in viewing sports activities with her family.

     Having been a serious painter since 1989, she continues to study with prominent instructors and develop her skill as an artist.
