The artist is a native of Montana and received most of her formal art training there. As a young woman she worked as a fashion illustrator in New York.

Hulburt now resides in Vancouver, Washington; where she teaches watercolor and paints in her home studio.

Her work has appeared in a number of national exhibitions, including those of the American Watercolor Society, the American Artists Professional League, the Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolor, the biennial Artists in Watercolor Competition, the Northwest Watercolor Society annual exhibits, and at Disneyland.

She is a founding member of the Southwest Washington Watercolor Society, a Signature Member of the Northwest Watercolor Society, a past Artist Member of the American Artists Professional League, and is listed in Who's Who in America. Her work is exhibited at Gallery 21.
